"Romance with a Twist" premiered in 2024 on Hallmark and next airs June 25. Featuring the wonderful Jocelyn Hudon and Olivier Renaud.

Her short play "A Christmas Pickle" was a finalist in the 2020 Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Festival. "The Vault" was published in
The Exposition Review and "A Hot Brick" was published in the Stage It! collection of Best Plays of 2021. Other recent productions of her short plays include The International Human Rights Arts Festival, Sixth Festival, Atlantic Acting School, Northland Pioneer College, Group Rep, and the Red Phoenix Theater in Adelaide, Australia. As a member of Playground LA, she's had numerous short plays selected for performance. The Playground company of 36 writers is given a topic and 4 days to write a short play. Six of the best plays are staged the following week at Monday Night Playground at the Broadwater MainStage in Hollywood.
Uma co-wrote the book and songs of the rock musical Mother Eve's Secret Garden of Sensual Sisterhood, which was produced at FringeNYC and the Midtown International Theater Festival, and was the the Winner of the 2013 New Jersey Playwrights Contest.

Rave reviews included, “The last time I laughed this hard at a musical it was during a preview for some new show called The Book of Mormon” from nytheater.com. The songs she co-wrote with her husband, Christian Pedersen, were praised as "gut-bustingly funny!" Mother Eve may be back once theaters are open again - more updates to come!
Along with Erica Jensen and Nicole Greevy, she co-wrote the TV pilot Living in Captivity (official selection, NY Television Festival and LA’s Independent Television Festival) and the short plays Impulsitive (Finalist, NYC 15 Minute Play Festival) and 28 Years Later (Finalist, Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Festival 2016, and Best Short Play, Midtown International Theater Festival 2007).
Christian and Uma's new musical Grandma's Ring had a developmental reading in New York City in January of 2015. In January 2016, they were invited to attend and stage a reading at the HBMG Foundation’s Winter Writers Retreat in Creede, Colorado, in association with the Creede Repertory Theater.
