Writing a Hallmark Movie Pitch Workshop

Next Class starts January 28 -- THIS CLASS IS FULL

With Special Guest, Dawn Wolfrom, Executive Producer

*Message me through the Contact Page to be added to the Interest List for future classes!*

I've recently launched a new writing workshop! In this class, you'll learn how to craft the industry standard one-page pitch that producers and writers use to sell these movies. We’ll explore the essential details of romantic comedy structure, plot, and character—and beloved tropes like the meet cute and the final kiss—to help you create a pitch that’s clear, compelling, and ready to charm.

The first week will also feature a Q+A with Dawn Wolfrom, who has produced 10 movies for Hallmark and Lifetime, for intel on what storylines are overdone, what to avoid, and specific mandates on what the TV movie industry is currently looking for.

For the final week, you’ll submit your final polished pitch to Dawn for a private 15 -minute feedback session. She is actively seeking new projects and is looking forward to hearing what you come with.

Cost is $250. Limited to 8 students.

Wednesdays Jan 28, Feb 4, Feb 11, Feb 18 from 7-9pm ET/ 4-6 pm PT

Plus: Private Sessions with Dawn on Feb 25 7-9pm ET / 4-6 PT

To register, message me through the Contact page.

I also teach a two hour workshop for libraries and staff events;
I can customize a class for your group.

“"Uma is a great coach. She brings knowledge and experience to help shape writers ideas to fit a genre she understands well.
It was easy to grow and accomplish more than I thought I was capable of in a very short time. “
